Thurlaston Meadows Care Home is set in the small village of Thurlaston Nr Dunchurch Rugby. We are passionate about delivering first class care to our residents, and we are looking for caring and enthusiastic carer’s to join our warm and friendly existing team. No experience required as we will provide full training to all new starters.

Summary of Roles

To help in the care to the resident’s physical environment and the general day to day activities of the Home. To actively participate with other members of staff, in meeting the personal needs of residents, respecting the dignity of the individual and promoting independence. Job requires you to work alternative weekends.

Main Duties / Responsibilities

To assist the residents who need help with all aspects of daily living.
To take appropriate levels of care when handling property belonging to residents.
To promote the mental and physical well-being of residents through talking to them, taking them out and sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreation.
To maintain a clean and safe environment ensuring adherence to the Homes standard of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control at all times.

Thurlaston Meadows Care Home is set in the small village of Thurlaston Nr Dunchurch Rugby. We are passionate about delivering first class care to our residents. We are currently looking for passionate and enthusiastic Senior Carers to join our friendly team. As a Senior Carer you’ll be fully trained in medicine management, and you will be responsible for giving out medication to our residents. This job requires you to work alternative weekends.

Main Duties / Responsibilities

  • To assist the residents who need help with all aspects of daily living.
  • Giving out medication to residents using our Electronic Medication system.
  • To promote the mental and physical well-being of residents through talking to them, taking them out and sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreation.
  • To maintain a clean and safe environment ensuring adherence to the Homes standard of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control at all times.
  • To promote and adhere to the Health & Safety Policy designed to protect all staff, residents and visitors from known hazards.
  • To actively be involved in the training programme and teaching of junior staff.
  • To ensure that unnecessary damage to the building and contents is not caused by careless movement of residents’ wheelchairs etc.
  • Participate in staff and residents’ meetings.
  • Attend one Fire Lecture annually.
  • Attend training activities as appropriate.
  • To report faulty equipment and/or damage caused within the Home.
  • Assist in keeping meaningful residents’ records.
  • To maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • To undertake any other duties which are considered appropriate from time to time.

Thurlaston Meadows, a friendly and family-run care home in the beautiful village of Thurlaston, is looking for a full-time Activities Coordinator to help bring joy, connection, and meaningful moments to our residents.

Your Role

You’ll play a key part in enriching daily life at our home by:

  • Planning and delivering a varied programme of activities — from bingo, arts and crafts, and gardening to themed events and trips out.
  • Supporting volunteers and working closely with our Activities Manager to keep activities fresh, fun, and inclusive.
  • Organising staff social events and team-building activities that strengthen our warm, supportive culture.
  • Creating newsletters, posters, and monthly activity calendars to keep residents, families, and staff informed.
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with residents, relatives, and colleagues.

What We’re Looking For

  • Confident IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and a friendly, professional telephone manner.
  • Someone reliable, well-presented, enthusiastic, and full of initiative.
  • A genuine people-person who loves getting involved and making each day enjoyable for others.
  • Have a full clean driving license

Employee Star Awards

The idea of the Star Award is to introduce a prestigious award that our staff would be honoured to receive and to recognise individuals for their outstanding work and commitment in providing an excellent service to our residents. The Star Award is announced twice a year in February and August as one way the Company wishes to show it’s appreciation for the hard work and dedication to all our staff show to our residents.

As well as a monetary award the winner will receive a personal Optical Crystal Hope Star Trophy with engraving in a presentation case which they will keep. A picture of each Star Award recipient receiving their Star Award will be places on a board as a permanent fixture.

The criteria for receiving the award is that the recipient must have shown excellent care, dedication to their role, be a team member and have gone above and beyond their duties in supporting the residents. Anyone can nominate a staff member for the Star Award and state why they think that person deserves it. The nominees are evaluated at the Head of Department meeting each February and August with the Home Manager, where a winner is chosen.
